Cosmetic acupuncture is a non surgical method to rejuvenate and revitalize the face. It is an effective way to counter premature aging, wrinkles, fine line, sagging skin, acne, dull complexion, and many other beauty problems. The target area for cosmetic acupuncture is mainly on the face and neck. However, the treatment is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, so the underlying factors that contribute to the aging process will also be targeted.
“A 1996 report in the international journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Cosmetic Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment. The effects include: The skin becoming delicate, improvement of elasticity of facial muscles, ruddier complexion, and overall rejuvenation.”
• Erases fine lines and reducing deeper lines and wrinkles• Reduces puffiness on face and around the eyes• Helps to eliminate dark circles• Improves facial complexion, and muscle tone• Reduces or eliminates double chins for a smooth clear jaw line• Moistens and hydrates the skin• Tightens pores and brightens the eyes• Reduces stress evident in the face and age spots• Increases collagen production• Slows the aging process from within• Promotes overall health and well being
Cosmetic acupuncture predominantly works on the connective tissue which aids in increasing collagen production, improving muscle tone and thus resulting in the skin's firmer appearance. The acupuncture needles help to stimulate healthy collagen remodeling inside our skin, eventually filling out the wrinkles and fine lines, and tighten and lift sagging skin.
An individual who has the following is not recommended to cosmetic acupuncture:• High blood pressure• Severe migraines• Pregnant women• Some pituitary disorders• Diabetes mellitus• Pacemakers and heart disorders• Seizure disorder• A problem with bleeding or bruising• Allergic attack• Acute herpes outbreak
For the best results, a series of 10 sessions performed weekly is recommended. Monthly maintenance sessions will prolong the results as well as facial massage, a healthy diet and a balanced lifestyle. As always, each individual responds uniquely and the number of sessions and results may vary, but many individuals report noticeable improvements after only a few sessions.
All treatments will between 60 to 90 minutes and will include the cosmetic acupuncture procedure and finish with gentle facial massage and moisturising of the skin.
Needles are only used one time and disposed of in sterile sealed containers after every treatment.
Typically, the effect lasts from 2 to 5 years after a course of 10 treatments. Following the initial course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results for five to ten years.
Avoid hot showers, hot tub, or sauna one hour before and after the treatment. Do not wear sunscreen before, but do wear it after the treatments. Do not wear make up to the treatments but eye makeup is okay.
